HydraSpecma strengthens its presence in Norway with the Kleppe team

23 June 2026

As part of HydraSpecma’s continued investment in Norway, Hyco became part of the HydraSpecma Group in April 2026. The acquisition strengthens HydraSpecma’s local presence and adds valuable expertise within hydraulic system design, software engineering and technical customer support.

Based in Kleppe, the team brings many years of experience from working closely with customers across several industries in Norway. Their strong technical know-how, high service level and focus on long-term customer relationships make them a valuable addition to HydraSpecma’s Nordic organisation.

Hyco’s Journey, a story built on customer relationships
Hyco was founded in 2009 by Frode Reve. The company he was employed by at the time was undergoing changes, and by starting his own company, Frode was able to ensure that he could continue working with what he enjoys most – technical solutions. Kjetil Efjestad and Steinar Åsen Torgersen were essentially involved from the very beginning. Together with Frode, they served a number of customers who followed them to the new company.

  – Business is done with people. Relationships matter, and to succeed in developing the optimal solution for each customer, you really need to understand them. That was, and still is, what drives us, explains Frode.

Time is important to most customers, and Hyco built up a stock of the right components in order to deliver quickly. Their reliable deliveries and expertise gave Hyco a strong reputation, and the company soon had many satisfied customers who kept coming back.

However, over time Frode felt that he wanted more time to engage himself more in technology and technical design drawings. In 2022, Oddvar joined the company as General Manager. He is a trained design engineer with a background in machinery and production, bringing extensive experience, new insights and a clear ambition to grow the company.

  – Hyco was a stable company with a good reputation. By clarifying our offering, we were able to reach new customers and begin a growth journey. Over the years, our customer base has broadened, and today we serve customers from several industries across Norway, says Oddvar.

New opportunities as part of HydraSpecma
In April 2026, Hyco was acquired by HydraSpecma, opening up new opportunities. This was an important positive step in HydraSpecma’s investment in Norway, as well as a positive development for the team in Kleppe.

By becoming part of HydraSpecma, the Kleppe team gains access to a broader product portfolio, strong suppliers and an expanded network of technical expertise across the Group. This creates new opportunities to support customers with complete hydraulic solutions, from components and system design to technical advice and delivery.

  – I see many advantages and great potential. With HydraSpecma, we gain access to a broader product portfolio with strong suppliers and an expanded network of expertise. Combined with support from central functions, this gives us security, as well as more time and opportunity to support our customers in the best possible way,” says Oddvar.

For Frode, the acquisition also opens new possibilities to continue developing technical solutions.

  – I like new things and look forward to the challenges and opportunities that come with being part of HydraSpecma. I am especially excited about working with a wider range of technical solutions, while continuing to build on my expertise in Danfoss and the value it can create for our customers, says Frode.

Continuing the journey together
As part of HydraSpecma, the Kleppe team will continue to develop smart hydraulic solutions with the customer in focus. By combining local expertise, strong relationships and HydraSpecma’s wider product and knowledge base, the team is well positioned to support both existing and new customers in Norway.

Together, HydraSpecma and the Kleppe team will continue building long-term partnerships, delivering reliable solutions and creating value for customers across industries.
