HydraSpecma acquires the Stavanger-based Hyco AS, further expanding its Nordic platform and technical capabilities in Norway.
Hydra-Grene A/S was founded in 1974 in Skjern, Denmark, as a sub-supplier to the Danish agricultural industry.
After more than a decade of building strong expertise in hydraulics and growing as a company, Hydra-Grene A/S was acquired by the Danish industrial conglomerate Schouw & Co. in 1988. With a strong owner behind our business and a focus on building reliable, long-term partnerships, Hydra-Grene A/S was able to continue its growth journey.
In 2016, this journey reached an important milestone as Hydra-Grene A/S acquired Specma AB.
Specma AB, a major Swedish hydraulics company, was founded in 1918, and the acquisition enabled the two companies to combine decades of expertise within hydraulics and fluid conveyance, while strengthening our ability to serve our great customers in the best possible way.
In 2020, we chose to fully reflect the strength of the combined business by changing our name to HydraSpecma.
Following Brexit and the pandemic, we wanted to remain close to our European OEM customers, strengthen our fluid conveyance distribution across the European market, and further develop our UK-based subsidiary. We took an important step in this direction in 2022 through the acquisition of the Dutch hydraulics company, GSS Hydraulics B.V.
The next major milestone in HydraSpecma's history came in 2023, when HydraSpecma acquired the wind division of Ymer Technology AB – a division delivering highly efficient cooling systems for the renewables industry.
As part of our continued growth journey, we strengthened our position in Norway with the acquisition of Agder Slangeservice AS in 2024. In spring 2026, we took the next step by expanding our Nordic platform and enhancing our technical capabilities in the Norwegian market through the acquisition of the Stavanger-based company Hyco AS.
Today, with a presence in numerous countries and a reputation for excellence, HydraSpecma continues to push the boundaries of technology within hydraulics, fluid conveyance and electrification.
