Gates LifeGuard protection 3/4 4000 Series
LifeGuardTM 4000-sleeve hose will hold back 565 bar bursts and 280 bar pinhole leaks at 100°C for up to 5 minutes on -04 (1/4") to -16 (1") hose sizes. It does this by redirecting the explosive force of a high-pressure burst down the length of the specially designed, triple-layer sleeve; dissolving the energy of the leak and dispersing the fluids at the hose ends via carefully designed ?channel? clamps. The leaked fluid from the clamps lets you spot the failure most easily.
ISO 3457 and EN 474-1 states that: "Hydraulic hoses containing fluid with a pressure of more than 5 MPa (50 bar) and/or having a temperature over 50°C, and which are located within 1 meter of the operator, shall be guarded."
