Characteristics: Are generally used for steam or as hot water hose in the industry. When using with steam, these hoses must only be used with open hose end. Maximum pressures and temperatures - see below. Steam are dangerous. Thus HydraSpecma A/S has published a short guidance (no.9), regarding selecting of steam hoses.
Construction: Mandrel-built hose with reinforcemetns af synthetic yarns.
Material: Inside and outside from heat-, weather and Oszone-resistant EPDM-rubber. Also resistant to normal claningfluids and unorganic acids and bases in max. 5% koncentration. Type grey V 160 is black inside and grey outside.
Couplings: Coupling for steam should always be with ferrules of 2-part type in brass or steel, and are mounted with 2- or 4 bolts. Inserts in steel threaded connections or flanges. Couplings type SMS and SVS. SMS and SVS not availabe for all dimensions.
Working ranges:
Hot water hose: Max. temp. 90°C., max. working pressure 13 bar, burst pressure 54 bar.
Low pressure steam hose: Max. temp. 160°C., max. working pressure 6 bar.
